The Ultimate Solution: Your Key To Filling Your Business With Happy Lifelong Customers
You’ve heard me talk about mapping out the Ultimate Solution… but what do I mean by that? Click play and listen as I break it down for a client on a previous Q&A Call. Do you know what your Ultimate Solution is for your business?
As a business owner, you need to know what your ultimate solution is. We already know that your business solves a problem. Now you have to figure out exactly what that problem is.
Your customers are going to have multiple problems that will relate back to your business. You may not be able to pinpoint them all right now but you will learn about them as your business grows.
You’ll find out that you’re going to be able to help your customers by saving them from the pain of doing the wrong thing, taking the wrong steps, not taking the steps they should. That’s the beauty about being a leader. We actually get to train people from where we failed. We can tell them, “Take these steps forward. Don’t take these steps backwards…” because we know it before they know it. Your customers are looking for someone to show them exactly what to do next, someone to say “Do this. Don’t do that.” Someone to take all of the guess work out for them.
I’ve been doing this for a long time but there’s a reason why I just recently released my “Build Your Empire Online” course. It’s my flagship mentorship program where I work with my students and show them exactly how to build a professional website.
It’s the first time I ever released a program like this, because I wanted to make sure when they come into it that I wasn’t just teaching them how to build a website but I wanted to make sure I was able to give them step by step guidance and take out all of the guess work for them! So, in the program – they get me for six weeks of mentoring. We do weekly calls and I’m helping them every step of the way, guiding them and helping them bring it all together there.
You need to figure out what your customers need from you. What do they need from you right now? What will they need a couple week from now? Months? Years?
Just like I always say, you need to map out your goals. Start where you are and work towards where you want to go.
You have to create a map from where your customers are now and where you want to take them as well. That doesn’t mean you should give them everything they need right now. That means, I want you to get really good at one products/services and then add more products/services from there.
In other words, if you’re just getting started I don’t want to hear you say, “I’m going to build a website course and offer social media and email marketing services right away.” No, I want you to focus on ONE product/service, do it really really good, market the heck out of and build it into something really big. Then add another, do the same exact thing and add another. Keep on going from there!
For instance, if you’re really confident in launching a website course, then do that! But if you’re more confident in doing social media, do that instead.
The first step is to really research your current customers and see what do they need from you right now! What is the first step they need to take? The second? The third? Map it out! Once everything is mapped out – that is your Ultimate Solution!
When I first started doing websites, I would work with my clients to launch the most amazing websites… only to find out most of my clients didn’t know what to do next. We would launch their website and then they wouldn’t how to start driving traffic back to it. That was my sign that I needed to extend my business into marketing.
From there, I started offering social media services. Then I added on email marketing. Then I started offering higher end packages. Fast forward to today – my marketing agency now offers over 50 different marketing packages and services and I’m still adding more on a regular basis. I’ve also added online courses and training programs teaching them how to do the marketing themselves.
I was able to add on to my business because I listened to my clients. I found out what they needed and I created packages as my business grew.
Notice I said – “I created packages as my business grew.” Not “I created packages to grow my business.” If you’re adding products or services to grow your business, you’re doing it wrong! You need to grow your business first and then add products/services. Focus on ONE product/service, do it really really good, market the heck out of and build it into something really big. Then add another, do the same exact thing and add another. Keep on going!
So, what do your customers need from you right now? What will they need a couple week from now? Months? Years? Grab a pen and start mapping it out!
